The Weekly Wrap - New Zealand, Driving, & Friends #240

A photo from my bangin' instagram. Follow me: thisismorgsyo
1. Incase you're just catching up I have been in New Zealand for almost a week now. Wahhh so cool. I forgot how gorg this country is. I have embraced the mannerisms of an over-excited tourist since being back. I have 'almost crashed' my car numerous times whilst trying to take a photo of the landscape. It's so pretty. Not afraid to admit I walked barefoot through the mud just to squidge that shit between my toes. Don't judge me.

2. I have a lot of emails at the moment. I'm trying to answer them. If it's something quick feel free to ask me on twitter because I can get back to you quicker. Chur.

3. Met up with my buddy ol pals Haylie and Patty. Watched Moonrise Kingdom. Daayuum Wes Anderson did a good job. I couldn't believe how well it was shot. I expected nothing less than a good movie but he really pushed it with that one. I didn't think much of the storyline, however given how amazing the execution was it could have been about downsyndrome Pandas and I'd still have the same reaction. Bravo. As a side not was I the only one who kept thinking 'this is so Tavi Gevinson' throughout the movie?

4. Got that rad hat above. Bout time.

5. I'm on instagram. Finally. Are you following me? Some fool already took thisismorgs so I had to opt for the next best alternative: thisismorgsyo. Get that!

6. Went out shmuzing at the Habourside Restaurant in Tauranga. Had some amazing steamed mussels. It's the best place to eat in the Bay of Plenty. Hands down. Expensive, but worth it.

7. Don't know much about this lot. But they have talent. A lot of it. Don't hate just because of the genre they belong to. If you think you're too cool then you're uncool. Word.

8. Trying to catch some sleep. I'm off up to Auckland tomorrow for some NZFW events. If you see me round town say hi.

9. Back to New York on Wednesday night. Can't wait!

Yes, I am using an internet connection established in the 70's #236

People (by people I mean people who think they know everything about blogging) say you shouldn't apologise on your blog ever. I say y'all are wrong.  I am in New Zealand, but I've been spending time with extended family who literally live on a hill in the bush. I barely have phone reception let alone internet. Right now I am sitting at a DELL computer (circa 2002) in a video store, in a town that has about 2000 people in it. The keyboard looks like it's used by teenagers that rabidly check their facebook after school. I can't even see the numbers. It costs $6 for one hour of internet, which is great I guess, except it's slower than a handicapped pigeon. Yes it's that serious. My blogging has mainly been done via my phone. Annoying much. I apologise for the lack of internetness. I will not miss a day though. Exciting stuff I am allowed to share with you all, I have got a few fashion shows I will be attending in New Zealand before I go back for New York fashion week. Epicness. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be somewhere where internet abounds and gigabytes run free. Ok, nerd moment.
This is what I have to deal with. Excite.
Peace, Morgs

I LOVE UGLY, You Should Too #62

I Love Ugly is the freshest menswear label to come out of New Zealand. What they have achieved in one year is a dream for anyone entering the fashion industry. They are stocked in various different countries including the creme de la creme of fashion, Paris. With a flagship store in Auckland they plan on expanding even further. Check out this interview they had with Breakfast. Even though these guys are a menswear label I would have no problem suiting up in their sweet tees. Androgyny is in, get with it. The prints these guys are using are off the chain! Good work guys! Proud to be kiwi moment goes here. Check out their online store: www.iloveugly.net . Hopefully I'll be seeing them stocked in New York soon!

And I'm out.
Peace, Morgs
