The Hangouts - LOVE ROSIE BAKERY #407

I've found my new favourite hangout in Tauranga. Love Rosie Bakery is nothing but cuteness. Aside the fact that I had my first coffee in about 6 months, and began randomly twitching, it was great. Bring your laptop down, chill out, talk with friends - it's a brilliant blogger hangout. The atmosphere has that nice balance of hipster and housewife; tattoos and turtlenecks - you know how it is [hashtag] thuglife. Big call, but I'd go as far as to say it's on par with Little & Friday.

People to Watch - Hanging at OD's Studio #402

Yesterday I went and had a look at Owen Dippie's studio, who I found about last time I was in New Zealand. I was just going in to have a look at his art but ended up staying for a long time talking about New York and how New Zealand is just a little bit small. We talked about the criticism you get when you voice your goals to someone and how essential it is to know the 'right' people #lifetalks. OD is going back to New York very soon to hopefully paint the worlds biggest portrait of Biggie Smalls. But this time he's looking to get it recognized by the right people - aka Jay-Z and his clique. How f**king cool is that?! A dude from Tauranga just going for what he wants - pretty awesome. Watch this space because OD is about to hit it big.

Graff Hunting in Tauranga pt 1 - Owen Dippie #371

Today I went on a graffiti hunt around Tauranga and started with what I call the Simpsons fence (see first picture). After staring at it for a while I read what it said, "Gallery behind Mount Surfshop on Totara Street". So, naturally, I listened to the fence and went there. Well, let me tell you we should all listen to fences more often. Funny story, this morning I decided I'd wear my Biggie t-shirt unbeknownst to me I was going to come across an 11foot portrait of Biggie. I tweeted a pic that I was, "weeping over this Biggie portrait". Looked down and realised I was wearing the t-shirt. I looked like the ultimate fan girl. Shout out to  P-Money for informing me that all this amazing art is by Owen Dippie. Owen, dude, you're amazing - I'm sold - make our city even cooler.

When in New Zealand... #340

1. Always fly Air New Zealand.
2. Have G.O.O.D music for roadtrips.
3. Go fishing. Immediately.
4. Watch your friend fall out of a Pohutukawa tree. Laugh.
5. Eat fish 'n' chips and drink L&P.
6. Mingle with people who make cool stuff.
7. Sunbathe on the beach while reading.
8. Eat seafood at the Harbourside. It's the best.
9. Eat pavalova.
10. Marvel in the magical-ness of the sun setting.
